What is LASDA?
LASDA functions as the University of Louisville's chapter of the American Student Dental Association (ASDA) while concurrently serving as the dental school's student government. Our multifaceted role encompasses a diverse range of initiatives, including organizing social events, spearheading outreach projects, offering advocacy opportunities, fostering leadership development, promoting wellness initiatives, facilitating networking opportunities, conducting informative lunch and learns, and contributing to ongoing improvements within the school. In essence, LASDA is a comprehensive hub that not only connects students with valuable resources but also actively enhances the overall dental school experience by providing a rich tapestry of engagement, support, and growth opportunities.
Our Mission
LASDA is a student-run organization that combines the Louisville chapter of the American Student Dental Association with the ULSD student government. It represents the interests of both DMD students and Dental Hygiene students. LASDA strives to engage our community inclusively to build more effective leaders and advocate for the dental student community. LASDA provides a student voice for communication with faculty, staff, and administration to help shape the goals, policies, and procedures of the School of Dentistry.
Our Vision
LASDA is dedicated to fostering inclusivity and addressing injustices within the dental community. Our goal is to inspire a new generation of leaders who are committed to promoting fairness and equality in the field. We recognize the importance of adaptability, continuously refining our legacy to meet the evolving needs of the dental profession. LASDA envisions a positive transformation in the dental community, where inclusivity is not only a goal but a fundamental aspect of our shared legacy.
